Megan Marco has a comprehensive medical background, trained in Western sciences as well as Chinese medicine.  Her background, knowledge, and intuition make her an effective doctor, helping people of all ages to heal.  She studied Western sciences and premedical studies at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Neuroscience.  Her Psychobiology studies opened her mind to the mind-body connection as well as to medicine of traditional cultures.  This led her to study in India with the School for International Training and explore traditional Indian medicine such as Ayurveda.

After college, Megan trained in Outdoor Leadership and Emergency Medicine at Stonehearth Open Learning Opportunities (SOLO) in Conway, New Hampshire.  She did rescue for various outdoor groups, and, as a member of the National Ski Patrol, she was a full time ski patroller and medic at Sunday River Ski Resort in Maine.

She had moved to Oregon with the intention of ski patrolling at Mount Hood Meadows, but quickly discovered the alternative medical schools in Portland.  Because of her continued interest in holistic medicine, Megan decided to go straight for her passion.  Because of her keen interest in the mind-body connection, the acupuncture school resonated with her the most.  Within a couple of months of living in Portland she applied to and was accepted by the prestigious Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM).  At OCOM, Megan Marco studied a foundation of Western medicine, Chinese medical philosophy, acupuncture point location, Chinese herbs, tui na traditional Chinese bodywork, shiatsu Japanese bodywork, and Qi gong energy work.  After completing her four year Masters Degree at OCOM, Megan created Oak Street Natural Health Center in downtown Portland, Oregon, bringing together various specialists in complementary medicine.

With her son starting school and wanting to return closer to family, Megan Marco has returned to the Connecticut/Rhode Island area and created the wonderful Stonington Natural Health Center, www.snhc.com.  Located on beautiful Quiambaug Cove, Stonington Natural Health Center is surrounded by beautiful views and tranquil sea breezes.  Stonington Natural Health Center is a fabulous collaborative of healers.

Megan's favorite Acupuncture style is the Balance Method, which is from the ancient texts and recreated by Dr. Richard Tan of San Diego.  The Balance Method allows for profound and deep changes to occur in the body by re-circuiting of the neural pathways and flow of energy.  The Balance Method frees up stuck energy, heals the root cause, and allows for long-term results.

To dive deeper into her herbal studies and the care of her patients, friends, and family, Megan Marco studied in Nanjing, China with the renowned Dr. Huang Huang for the month of October 2007.  Dr. Huang's profound knowledge and generosity in sharing these jewels of wisdom were gifts given to her that she is now able to share with her patients to help them even more.  She is now able to determine a person's Herb Type, which allows a more accurate prescribing of their herbal formula.  Dr. Huang resurfaced this information from the classical Chinese text The Yellow Emperor's Classic.

Learning is a lifetime experience, and Megan Marco is committed to expanding and developing her knowledge of Acupuncture, bodywork, and herbs as well as her practice of Qi Gong.  Megan Marco has taken advanced studies in Fertility, Pediatrics including ADD/ADHD, Pain Relief, and Facial Rejuvenation.  She is a gifted and intuitive healer.  Megan’s greatest joy is helping her patients, and friends, on their paths towards health and contentment.
